This website is the Institute’s main website. It is used to promote the Institute and its services and connects to our Member Platform where people can apply to become members of the Institute. We collect and process Personal Data (which is any information related to an individual human being that can be used either directly or indirectly to identify the person).

 

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Like most websites, each time you access the site, log files record certain technical data and other information such as the time and date of your access is recorded. The legal basis for processing such data (to the extent that it is to be considered personal data) is “legitimate interests”, these legitimate interests arise from the fact that without such data the website cannot be accessed, we have an interest to continuously improve the website and its services, and to protect against fraud.

If you make enquires or otherwise contact us through this site, your name and email address and any other Personal Data you choose to supply in your communication will be collected and processed on the basis of your consent and used to respond to your communication. Your consent can be withdrawn at any time by letting us know.

If you wish to apply for membership, you are transferred to our Membership Portal which is a separate site with its own Privacy Statement as it needs to cover more than is needed on this site. The membership application process gives you the opportunity to provide some Personal Data which is required by Contractual Necessity and some Personal Data which is collected and processed on the basis of your consent. The application form highlights what Personal Data is collected by Contractual Necessity and what data is collected on the basis of consent.
