Riëtta Klijn & Pere Juarez Vives elected as Fellows

We are delighted to announce that Riëtta Klijn (the Netherlands) and Pere Juarez Vives (Spain) have been elected as Fellows of the Institute.

Rietta Klijn

Riëtta is a business excellence professional with experience working in Europe and Asia. She began her career as an Environmental Coordinator with Ricoh Europe before moving to Mondo Minerals (the world’s 2nd largest talc producer). She later returned to Ricoh Europe to become their Group Excellence Manager. In 2007, she moved to the French electronics company Thales Land and Joint Systems and subsequently to Philips before starting her own consultancy Help 2 Improve. Since 2008, she has conducted many “Recognised for Excellence” and European Excellence award assessments for the EFQM. She has also served, as part of Help 2 Improve’s service provision, as the EFQM’s Learning & Development Officer.

Riëtta holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Management Sciences, both from Hogeschool Twente (Twente University of Applied Sciences). She is a European Excellence Assessor, a Licensed EFQM Trainer, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and a Lego® Serious Play Facilitator.

Pere Juarez Vives

Pere is a scholarly management-practitioner who started his career with Philips in 1990 before joining the French company Transiciel Sysdata (now Capgemini) and, later, the consulting firm Soluziona. In 2005, he moved to Itera after which he went independent for a while. At the start of 2010, he started working with medical device company K2M and also worked on the European Commission’s Competitiveness for Catalonia initiative (ACC10). In 2012, he joined the social-profit organisation Seminario Cinc to help them for a few months and also moved into education. In 2013, he established Educhallenges to run creativity and innovation seminars and became Chair of Entrepreneurship at the University of Barcelona. He currently lectures there – and in LATAM Business School – on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Project Management and Creativity. He has also been a visiting Professor at IESE and ESERP Business Schools in Madrid.

Pere holds a BSc in Physics (University of Barcelona) a Masters in IT Management (University Politècnica Catalunya) and a PhD in Educational Innovation (University of Barcelona). He is a European Excellence Assessor and a Lego® Serious Play Facilitator and has been an Excellence Assessor for the Dubai Government.
