New Fellows- Heidi Fuerst, Susan Murray & Thomas Paulu

We are delighted to announce that Heidi Fuerst (USA), Susan Murray (Canada), and Thomas Paulu (Germany) have been elected as Fellows of the Institute.

Heidi Fuerst

Heidi is a senior corporate finance and accounting professional with experience working in Europe and the US. She began her career with Deloitte and Touche in Phoenix before entering the hotel and real estate industry. In 1995, she was appointed Director of International Accounting EMEA for Ramada Hotels and moved to Frankfurt, Germany. When she returned to the US, she spent some time in Pharmacy Benefits Management before being appointed Vice President of Finance for CTF Hotels and Resorts. Since 2007 she has worked as an advisor and has served as a board member for a number of companies ranging from tech start-ups to event management. She joined the Institute’s Advisory Board last year. Heidi is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.

Susan Murray

Susan is the principal consultant with Clearpath Leadership, a Canadian firm offering leadership consulting and research services to the profit and non-profit sectors. She also teaches executive leadership at Memorial University of Newfoundland and the Rotman School of Management in Toronto. She has a background in education and has worked extensively in the public education sector as a senior leader in both program development and human resources. Prior to that, she was recognized as one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals in 2005. Susan holds a B.Ed in Primary Education, an M.Ed in Leadership, and an M.Sc in Business Management research. She is completing her doctoral studies in Leadership this year at Henley Business School.

Thomas Paulu

Thomas is an accomplished executive leader with 25 years of experience and a track record of success in international large-scale program management, process improvement, business transformation, and organizational management. He has a background in operations, people management, and information technology and has worked in Europe and the US. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director of an Irish software company, has been on the Institute’s Advisory Board since it was established, and serves as Chair of the Alumni Association of Amerika Institute in Munich. Thomas holds a MA in Humanities & Social Sciences from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Kaizen Practitioner.
